Prerequisite: Sketch Level 1 - Improv to Sketch or equivalent experience

This dynamic and engaging introduction to sketch writing class is designed for those who want to develop the craft of sketch writing and develop the discipline of writing comedic sketches. Throughout the course, students will use the learned essential techniques from Level 1 to elevate sketch writing including: writing from a distinct point of view, applying premise and game structure, and utilizing improvisation to enhance the writing process.

Develop the Discipline of Writing: Build strong writing habits that turn ideas into well-crafted comedic sketches.

Identify Various Sketch Structures: Sketches can be classified by their structure, just like movies can be classified by their genre. Knowing what structure you want to use when you improvise or write a sketch can be an extremely useful communication tool.

Write Various Sketch Structures: Students will not only identify various kinds of sketches, but also try their hand at improvising and writing sketches using those structures.
