Level 1 Improv - Saturdays 4:30-6:30 PM

August 1 - September 26. NO CLASS ON SEPTEMBER 5.

Level 1 teaches the basics of improv theory in relation to short form improv and what we do at Dad’s Garage. It is the foundation for our entire class system!

During class, students are introduced to ideas and excercises that provide performance building blocks to use throughout their improv careers. 

This class is designed for students seeking continued improv education as well as professionals looking for new, unique ways to approach public speaking and interpersonal dynamics in the workplace.

Skills covered in the class include:

  • Listening
  • Team Building
  • Trust
  • “Yes, And…”
Payment plan available: $75 deposit plus 4 payments of $51.25, paid weekly.

Level 1 - Improv for RPG Players - Sundays 4:30-6:30 PM

Using basic improv exercises and guided scene work, students explore how the tenants of good improv can improve the experience of table-top role-playing games through improved character performance, collaborative story-telling skills and creative problem-solving.

Pre-reqs: No improv experience necessary. Students will benefit from a beginner’s level familiarity with any TTRPG.

This is an eight-week of two hour sessions ideal for 12 students.

Level 2 takes the skills you learned in Level 1 and applies them to a broader understanding of narrative scene-based improvisation. In this class, you will create characters, explore relationships, and establish an understanding of the basic narrative structures that apply to improvised theatre.

Level 3 Improv - Sundays 7-9 PM

August 2 - September 27. NO CLASS ON SEPTEMBER 6.

Level 3 further explores short form with a focus on narrative techniques and expanding the skills you learned in level 2. You will learn to see a scene through to its full potential and dig deeper into the details that make a scene special.
