Our fourth level of improv training is designed to bring all of the skills touched upon in the previous levels together. This course emphasizes advanced games and narrative techniques in addition to further polishing onstage performance skills. This level wraps up with a showcase for an audience.

Learn how a strong narrative “bone structure” can make your long-form sets feel cohesive, grounded, and instantly classic. You’ll learn and explore tried-and-true story structures adapted specifically for narrative improv, so you’re never left wondering, “What happens next?” You’ll gain flexible frameworks that help you heighten stakes, connect story threads, and build with clarity and confidence in the moment.

Performance Lab bridges classroom learning with performance experience. Students continue their weekly class while also preparing for and performing in live shows during the final four weeks of the term.

This format teaches how a strong relationship with the environment can deepen character, enrich scenes, and shape the narrative. You’ll explore how physical spaces influence a character’s point of view, emotions, behavior, and relationships, turning the environment from a backdrop into an active storytelling partner. You’ll gain practical tools for using locations to establish history, generate conflict, reveal new sides of characters, and create recurring themes and narrative connections. Through this work, you’ll discover how character, relationship, environment, and story can continually influence one another to create richer, more dynamic scenes.

Level 5 - Duos - Tuesdays 7-9 PM

Sign up as a duo (cost for class is per student, not duo)

This class culminates with a grad show with duos performing.

Learn how strong two-person scene work can create dynamic, connected, and inspired improv. You’ll explore the core skills of trust, listening, relationship, character, and collaboration, learning how to recognize and build on what you and your partner naturally discover together. You’ll gain practical tools for creating rich environments, finding variety, pacing scenes, and letting moments breathe, giving you the confidence to make strong choices while discovering the scene together.
