In this class, students will improvise scenes to discover concepts, characters, and scenarios, then re-improvise those ideas to develop material for sketches. You'll build on core improv techniques to fuel creativity, collaboration, and idea development for sketch writing.

Re-improvisation as a Writing Tool: Re-improvisation can help uncover unexpected ideas, new directions, refine your ideas leading to the continuous evolution of your work.

Use Improvisation Skills in Scripted Comedy: Learn how to use improvisation not just for performance, but as a writing technique to generate material and enhance creativity.

Write from Point of View: Explore and write from unique perspectives, discovering how point of view shapes humor and character.

Utilize Premise in Sketch Writing: Learn how to craft compelling scene premises that serve as the foundation of a sketch, setting the stage for humor and plot.
