Level 3 further explores short form with a focus on narrative techniques and expanding the skills you learned in level 2. You will learn to see a scene through to its full potential and dig deeper into the details that make a scene special.

Level 4 Improv - Sundays 7-9 PM

Our fourth level of improv training is designed to bring all of the skills touched upon in the previous levels together. This course emphasizes advanced games and narrative techniques in addition to further polishing onstage performance skills. This level wraps up with a showcase for an audience.

In this advanced-level class, you'll learn the structure, skills, and storytelling techniques behind Dad's Garage's fantasy adventure improv format. Using the core principles of improvisation, you'll discover how to build compelling characters, collaborate on rich worlds, and create surprising narratives that evolve through play.
In this class, you'll:
Create and develop your own original fantasy character
Learn the structure and mechanics of the Tight Acquaintances format
Build relationships and character arcs over the course of a story
Practice long-form narrative improvisation
Use Dad's Garage's improvisational philosophy to embrace the unexpected and make bold choices
Collaborate to create immersive worlds, quests, and adventures
Whether you're a tabletop gaming enthusiast, a fantasy fan, or an experienced improviser looking to expand your storytelling skills, this class offers a unique opportunity to explore character-driven adventure comedy.
The class culminates in a live performance of the Tight Acquaintances format, where you'll bring your character and story to life before an audience.

Stand-Up Comedy Level 1 - Foundations of Stand-Up - Sundays 7-9 PM
August 2 - September 27. NO CLASS ON SEPTEMBER 6.
Ever wanted to try stand-up, but don't know where or how to start. This class introduces you to the tools and techniques to begin your stand-up comedy journey.
In this class, you'll learn:
The fundamentals of joke structure
Different types of jokes and comedic styles
Techniques for generating original material
How to identify strong comedic premises
Methods for turning ideas into polished jokes
Strategies for organizing material into a cohesive set
Whether you've never written a joke or have always wanted to try stand-up, this class will help you find your comedic perspective and build your first performance-ready material.

Level 1 teaches the basics of improv theory as it relates to short-form improv and what we do at Dad’s Garage. It is the foundation for our entire class system!
During class, students are introduced to ideas and exercises that provide performance-building blocks to use throughout their improv careers.
This class is designed for students seeking continued improvement in their communication skills, as well as professionals looking for new, unique ways to approach public speaking and interpersonal dynamics in the workplace.

Level 2 Improv - Mondays 7-9 PM
August 3 - September 28. NO CLASS ON SEPTEMBER 7.
Level 2 takes the skills you learned in Level 1 and applies them to a broader understanding of narrative scene-based improvisation. In this class, you will create characters, explore relationships, and establish an understanding of the basic narrative structures that apply to improvised theatre.

Level 5 Improv (Long Form Narrative) - Mondays 7-9 PM
August 3 - September 28. NO CLASS ON SEPTEMBER 7.
Learn how a strong narrative “bone structure” can make your long-form sets feel cohesive, grounded, and instantly classic. You’ll learn and explore tried-and-true story structures adapted specifically for narrative improv, so you’re never left wondering, “What happens next?” You’ll gain flexible frameworks that help you heighten stakes, connect story threads, and build with clarity and confidence in the moment.
